Mennghapus File Thumbs.db

Buat anda pengguna windows, terutama yang menggunakan XP maka ketika membuka sebuah direktori akan melihat sebuah file dengan nama Thumbs.db. File ini merupakan file yang dibuat dalam satu folder berisi file gambar atau film sehingga Anda dapat melihat thumbmail dari gambar atau film tersebut tanpa harus benar-benar membuka file-file tersebut.Yang mengecewakan adalah file ini menggunakan space hardisk sekitar 2 kb per file bahkan terkadang 130-an kb.

Kalo anda ingin menghapusnya atau menghilangkannya ada beberapa cara, diantaranya :

I.  Dengan merubah konfigurasi di gpedit.msc
1. Go to Run in the startmenu
2. Type gpedit.msc
3. Click OK and the Group Policy will open
4. Go to User Configuration/Administrative Template/Windows Components/Windows Explorer
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the long list of stuff that now shows up in the menu on the right. Double-Click on Turn off caching of thumbnail pictures.
6. Click on Enable then Apply, Ok. And now you no longer have this annoying problem.

II. Menghapus file thumbs.db dari hardisk.
1) Click on Start
2) Click on Search
3) Click on All Files and Folders
4) Type the following in the section called “all or part of the file name”
thumbs.db
5) In the Look in box, make sure Local Hard Drives is chosen
6) Click Search
7) A long list of thumbs.db files should appear, click on Edit, Select All
Click on File, and choose Delete
9) Close the Search Results window

III. Mematikan fungsi file ini:
1) Open My Computer
2) Click on Tools
3) Click on Folder Options
4) Click on the View Tab
5) Place a check in the option “Do not cache thumbnails”
6) Click Ok
7) Close My Computer
